Every year the practice recieves new targets from the government which we are obliged to achieve to qualify for ongoing funding. This year all practices have been asked to form a Patient Reference Group (PRG). The role of the PRG is to act as a pool of patients for the practice to call upon to canvas opinion on a variety of issues, for example, appointment availability and services offered.
The PRG will be involved in the creation of a practice survey this year, deciding on which issues need to be raised, looking at the survey results and helping the practice to decide on sebsequent action.
We were looking for patients from all corners of our patient population, from those enjoying retirement to teenagers, fulltime parents, fulltime or part time workers, carers and those been cared for.
The commitment is not onerous, we would like to be in touch by email primarily and meet up face to face two or three times a year.
We have had some interest and will be contacting those patients shortly to set up our PRG.
